What makes it deep

A regular clean handles the surfaces you use. A deep clean handles the ones you've stopped noticing.

That means baseboards, the tops of door frames, behind the toilet, the window tracks where the sliding door meets the frame, light switches, and the grubby ring around every handle in the house.

It takes much longer than a maintenance visit, so it's priced as its own job.

When people book one

• Before starting a regular schedule, so the visits after it only have to maintain the house.
• Once or twice a year, usually in spring and before the holidays.
• After a stretch of neglect: a new baby, a bad few months at work, or a house that got away from you. Most of Astrid's deep cleans are this kind, and there's no judgement.
• Before guests, like when the in-laws are coming and the guest bathroom hasn't been properly cleaned since their last visit.

How long it takes

A deep clean on a home that hasn't had one in a year or two is most of a day's work. That's why Astrid wants to see or hear about the place before she quotes.

It only has to happen once

Once the house is at that baseline, regular visits keep it there, so you shouldn't need another deep clean. People who book one and never book regular visits usually need a second deep clean two years later.
