Sterling, Virginia
House cleaning
in Sterling, VA.
Astrid doesn’t travel to Sterling. She lives here — which is the whole reason this is the easiest place in Loudoun to get on her schedule.
Her home town, not her territory
Most cleaning companies list a dozen towns and drive to all of them. Astrid lives in Sterling. Everything that follows comes from that one fact.
She isn't building a route around a distant appointment, so a Sterling job can often be fitted in around the rest of the week rather than needing to anchor a day. If something runs over, she isn't watching the clock because of a drive back across the county. And if you need a date moved, there's usually more room to move it.
The housing here is not one thing
Sterling is unusual in Loudoun for how much its housing stock varies, and that matters more than it sounds.
Sugarland Run and older Sterling Park are largely 1960s and 70s houses. Older homes, older bathrooms, and often original tile and grout — which is precisely the kind of build-up a regular clean is not scoped to remove. Homes here benefit most from starting with a deep clean.
Cascades and Potomac Falls are 1990s and 2000s, generally larger, and frequently have more bathrooms than bedrooms once you count the half-baths. Bathrooms drive the length of a visit more than any other room, so the bathroom count is the first thing Astrid asks about here.
Countryside sits between the two, with a lot of townhomes — which means stairs. Stairs are slow to vacuum properly and slower still with pets.
Newer builds around Route 28 and the Dulles corridor need the least establishing work and often go straight onto a regular schedule.
What she does here
Recurring cleans — weekly, bi-weekly or monthly — are the bulk of it. Deep cleans, particularly on the older housing stock. Move-in and move-out cleans, which come up constantly in Sterling given how much of the area rents to the Dulles and data-centre corridor.
