What's Included
What’s included —
and what isn’t.
The single most common question before booking a cleaner. Here is the honest version, including the parts that aren’t covered.
Read this bit first. Astrid has never published a fixed room-by-room checklist, and this page isn’t one. It’s what a clean of each type usually covers, so you know roughly what you’re buying. The exact scope for your home is agreed when she gives you your free estimate — before anything is booked, and before you pay anything.
Every visit
You supply nothing.
- All cleaning products — she brings her own.
- All equipment — nothing comes out of your cupboard.
- The same cleaner — Astrid, every single visit.
Kitchen
Where most of the time goes.
- Counters and backsplash wiped down
- Sink cleaned and fixtures polished
- Exterior of appliances — refrigerator, oven, dishwasher, microwave
- Microwave interior
- Cabinet fronts, handles and pulls
- Table and chairs
- Floors vacuumed and mopped
- Bins emptied
Bathrooms
The room people judge you on.
- Toilets cleaned inside, outside and behind
- Showers and tubs scrubbed, including doors and tracks
- Sinks, counters and fixtures
- Mirrors and glass
- Cabinet fronts and handles
- Floors vacuumed and mopped
Bedrooms & living areas
Dust, surfaces, floors.
- All accessible surfaces dusted
- Mirrors and glass
- Furniture wiped where appropriate
- Beds made, or linens changed if you leave them out
- Floors vacuumed; hard floors mopped
- Cushions straightened, room left presentable
On a deep clean
Everything above, plus the built-up parts.
- Baseboards, door frames and doors wiped
- Light switches, handles and railings
- Window sills and tracks, interior side
- Built-up soap scum, limescale and grout lines
- Behind and around fixtures and appliances where reachable
What isn't included
Being straight about this saves everyone a conversation on the day.
- Anything needing specialist equipment or a trade. Carpet and upholstery shampooing, floor refinishing, pressure washing.
- Exterior windows above ground level. Interior windows and sills, yes; ladders and second storeys, no.
- Post-construction or post-renovation clean-up. Drywall dust is a different job with different equipment.
- Heavy lifting. She won't move furniture that takes two people, or anything she could damage or be hurt by.
- Clutter, laundry and dishes aren't part of a clean by default. If you'd like them included, ask when she quotes — it's fine, it just has to be in the time.
- Biohazards, mould remediation, pest issues and animal waste. Call the appropriate specialist.
Add something, or leave something out
None of this is rigid. Want the inside of the oven done, or the fridge emptied and wiped? Ask. Want her to skip the basement entirely because nobody goes down there? That's less time and it comes off the quote. Just say it at the estimate rather than mid-visit.
